A gunman carried out a deadly, coordinated attack at an Idaho drive-thru, killing several people and wounding others in what looks like a planned ambush.

• The shooter first killed a worker at the payment window, then blocked the drive-thru with his car so no one could escape.
• He shot people trapped in their vehicles and fired at an on-duty state trooper who ran toward the scene.
• Off-duty officers and armed bystanders traded fire with him while trying to evacuate workers and help the wounded.
• He then moved to a nearby road and shot at passing cars, and gunned down people charging their vehicles at a Tesla station.
• At least three people were killed and around ten were shot in total.
