Taiwan's defense ministry reports ongoing Chinese military and government ship activity near the island, a routine but closely watched part of the broader standoff between Taiwan and Beijing.

• Taiwan detected 5 Chinese warships and 8 Chinese government vessels operating around Taiwan over the past day.
• No Chinese military aircraft were spotted during this period, unlike many recent days.
• Taiwan's military is tracking the ships with its own aircraft, naval vessels, and land-based missile systems.
• This is part of a near-daily pattern of Chinese pressure around Taiwan that has continued for years.

Outlook: Expect this kind of Chinese naval and coast guard activity near Taiwan to continue as a steady, low-grade pressure campaign rather than an isolated incident.
