The Department of Hawaiian Home Lands is rolling out new online tools to make it easier for beneficiaries to manage their applications and leases without an in-person visit.

• A new beneficiary portal lets applicants and lessees handle things online anytime: naming a successor, updating contact info, checking the waitlist, or starting a lease transfer.
• New applicants can also apply through the portal instead of going in person.
• A new program called Lama Lama Labs will send free digital-skills training directly into communities, helping elders get comfortable with technology and helping younger beneficiaries build skills for future jobs.
• Classes start as early as next month and will continue rolling out by location through 2028.

Outlook: The portal is live now, and in-person digital training sessions will expand across communities over the next two years.
