Comedian Paula Poundstone appeared on a local morning show to promote her stand-up performance, in a lighthearted, fan-friendly segment.

• Poundstone is performing at the Hawaii Theatre, a venue she has played before and also attended as an audience member.
• She mentioned a running nightly video bit where she "FaceTimes" a Donald Trump stand-in to offer him advice, joking she recorded one from a hotel lobby to avoid waking people up.
• The chat touched on her past stint as the first woman to host the White House Correspondents' Dinner, which she described as an intimidating but fun event.
• Much of the segment was comedic banter about local snack branding, Hawaii's loose rooster population, and her childhood summer road trips to Alabama.

Outlook: Poundstone's show at the Hawaii Theatre was set for that Saturday at 8 p.m.
