A missing girl who walked away from her Waikoloa home was found safe with the help of a police dog, a good outcome for the family and for the Big Island's search program.

• A scent-trained police dog named Trina led searchers to a brushy area about 150 yards from the house.
• The girl was found safe and in good health and was reunited with her family the same afternoon.
• Trina is a three-year-old Labrador retriever from Sweden, trained to find living people by scent.
