A house fire in Waipahu left two people seriously hurt, one of them a young child.

• A 66-year-old woman and a 6-year-old girl were badly injured in the blaze.
• Firefighters were called to Kahului Place late at night and found the house empty when they got there.
• A house next door caught light fire damage.
• The cause has not been announced.
