Milo Yiannopoulos deported after Laura Loomer campaign

Aug 31, 2026

A right-wing media feud ended with one of Trump's earliest online boosters deported, showing how much power an outside activist now holds over the administration.

  • Milo Yiannopoulos, a British citizen who overstayed his visa since 2019, was arrested by ICE in New Orleans and removed from the country.
  • Laura Loomer publicly claimed credit, saying she exposed him — and Homeland Security announced the arrest with fanfare.
  • Loomer has also gotten officials fired at the NSA and FDA, blocked White House hires, and gets fed scoops, making her an unofficial gatekeeper on personnel.
  • Yiannopoulos had turned critical of both Trump and Israel, and had spent years cheering on ICE raids while living here illegally.
  • Loomer's own record — racist attacks on a Black lawmaker, paid foreign trips funded by undisclosed donors — draws almost no mainstream pushback.

Outlook: Expect Loomer to keep picking off targets inside and around the administration, with little sign anyone in power is willing to check her.
